In a completely shocking turn, Brunei has passed a bill which makes tips required and much to people’s consternation the country has made the amount that needs to be tipped proportional to the size of the belly.
This law has been passed, it appears, because of the notion that a belly represents satisfaction and wealth. People with potbellies have become outraged.
“Yes, I have a round or roundish belly. But, that does not mean I am wealthy. It means I am lazy. They are taxing laziness,” one anonymous citizen stated.
A yoga instructor, on the other hand, says: “It will definitely help people get in shape. It is a good thing that they want to lose some (fat) with the purpose of not losing some (money). Namaste.”
